Center of Innovative and Applied Bioprocessing (CIAB) and IIT Ropar signed the MOU

On February 26, 2018, Center of Innovative and Applied Bioprocessing (CIAB) and Indian Institute of Technology Ropar (IIT Ropar) signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

 

Basic objectives are for the joint research on present national issue on stubble burning, particularly valorization of agro waste. For the above joint R&D activities in the areas of Biomass management and its conversion, CIAB and IIT Ropar will achieve proof of concept by middle of 2018 and will apply for funding for semi industrial scale pilot plant set up for the national benefit of the farmers.

 

Center of Innovative and Applied Bioprocessing (CIAB) is the unique institute on its mandates. This is the only institute works mostly on the valorization of agricultural waste and secondary agricultural waste. Indian Institute of Technology Ropar (IIT Ropar) is established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, to expand the reach and enhance the quality of technical education in the country. This MoU has been signed specifically on joint R&D activities in the areas of biomass managements, thermo-chemical conversion of biomass.

 

Dr. Sarit Das, Director IIT Ropar, Dr TR Sharma , CEO CIAB and ED NABI have signed the MoU on their respective behalf. Other than Directors, senior faculties from both the institute were present. Dr. PK Raina, Dr. Harpreet Singh, Dr. T J Dhilip Kumar, Dr.Deepak Kashyap, represented IIT Ropar. Whereas, CIAB was represented by Dr. Sudesh Kumar, Dr. Saswata Goswami and Mr. VK Banerjee.
