About Mohali City
Mohali is a rapidly growing busineess hub just across the road to Chandigarh, the ‘City Beautiful’. In fact, Mohali (Punjab), Chandigarh (Union Territory) and Panchkula (Haryana) are scenically so similar that one does not feel any discontinuity in the beauty, openness, ambience and facilities while driving through. Therefore, they are rightly referred together as the Tricity. Mohali, after its fame for cricket (Mohali Cricket Stadium) is acquiring scientific fames globally. For scientists, academicians, scholars, students and entrepreneurs, it has a cluster of national institutions of learning, research, technology, business etc. These include IISER, ISB, INST, NABI, CIAB, PBTI and the Biotech Park co located to constitute ‘Knowledge City’. In India, this is probably first example of such diversity of institutions conceptualized to be built in zero distance neighbourhood for professional functioning and interaction as a common campus. Further, the togetherness of these knowledge city institutions of higher education research translational innovations and business with CSIR-IMTECH, CSIR-CSIO, PGIMER, IIT Ropar, NITTR, NIPER, DIHAR, SASE, PEC Univ. Tech, TBRL etc. is reflected in the formation of a common platform of inter-institutional interactions under the umbrella of Chandigarh Region Innovation and Knowledge Cluster (CRIKC).
Mohali and its surroundings offer an excellent and exciting tour and entertainment opportunity of life time memories. To mention a few, besides the best shopping expe rience, are the Rock Garden, Rose Garden, Sukhna Lake, Morni Hills, Pinjore Garden and the close by attractions of Golden Temple (Amritsar). Hill tourism hotspots (Shimla, Kasauli, Kufri, Timber Trail) etc.
How to Reach Mohali: Mohali is well connected by rail, road and air. This connectivity is largely served through Chandigarh. Besides the rail, air and road connectivity via Delhi (about 250 Kms), some direct trains and air services between Chandigarh and other cities are also available. CIAB and Knowledge city at Mohali are very nearby (10 to 20 minutes drive) to Chandigarh Airport, Bus Stand and Railway Station.
Weather: Mid December is winter season in this region and the weather conditions are similar to those in Delhi during these days. Expected minimum and maximum temperatures are 8 °C and 15 °C, respectively. Sufficient warm clothing is must for enjoying winter stay.
